Says media played pivotal role in clearing myths about vaccination

Srinagar, Feb 20 (KNS): Director Health Services Kashmir, Mushtaq Ahmad Rather on Sunday said that urban and rural health system of Kashmir is getting more developed and within a few months massive change will be seen in the health infrastructure of Kashmir.
 
Talking exclusively to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Rather said that in the last two to three years, health infrastructure has improved to the extent that district level hospitals are working at tertiary levels. 
 
“In every district hospital, ICU’s have been developed and during second wave of COVID-19 huge number of patients were admitted at district hospitals for treatment. Even in sub-district hospitals oxygen plants have been installed with high-end machines.”
 
He said that urban and rural health system of Kashmir is getting more developed and within few months a massive change will be seen in health infrastructure of Kashmir. “Referrals from districts have declined as all district hospitals are fully operational,” he added.
 
He said that media has played a very important role in ending the rumours about vaccination and he is thankful to media for that.
 
“Earlier there were some myths and rumours about vaccines which have now been cleared, so now people are voluntarily coming for vaccinations.” 
 
Rather appealed to all parents to get their children vaccinated so that they can safely attend schools.
 
He further appealed to all the parents that if they find any symptoms in their children like cough or fever, then they should not sent their child to school.
 
On being asked about report of monthly performance of employees, he said that work will be reviewed every month and based on that review directions would be given to every employee for improving their work performance. “Action will be taken against those who violate the directions of the department.” 
 
He appealed to all the people that COVID should not be taken lightly and all the SOP’s should be followed in letter and spirit. (KNS)
