Anantnag, Jan 31:(KNS) Noted Socio-Political Activist Imran Amin Shah on Monday thanked LG Manoj Sinha and his administration for empowering Panchayat Members to enable them fight COVID-19.

In a statement here, Imran Shah said that LG Administration to historical decision of empowering Panchayats and releasing financial assistance which they later contributed for fighting COVID-19 at Panchayat level. 

Beacuse of this decision, he said, the members of Karewa (Ranbirpora) panchayat donated 5 lac under Capex budget for an Ambulance and oxygen concentrator to get instant relief from any exigency in wake of present Covid pandemic. 

The local Covid centre situated in Krewa (Ranbirpora) was craving for the facility and was totally dependent on administration prior to this. 

The socio political activist Imran Amin Shah requested LG administration to take more initiatives for empowering Panchayats and making the effective. 

He also urged the government to mitigate the sufferings of general public of Prakashpora by way of immediately commissioning of water supply scheme of Akura- Mattan (Khanward). While as the pipeline has been installed two years earlier but the people are still craving for drinking water. This has also exposed the slow and callous approach of the PHE department and even has flattened the tall claims of providing every household the safe drinking water under Jal Shakti Abhiyaan. (KNS)
