Chennai, Oct 9 (KNS): The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has invited applications for its two-year Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) programme for mid-career working professionals, with October 26, 2026, set as the last date for submission of applications.

The programme, offered by the institute's Department of Management Studies (DoMS), will commence in January 2027 and follow a blended learning format, combining classroom teaching with virtual sessions on alternate weekends.

According to the institute, candidates seeking admission must possess a first-class bachelor's degree in any discipline and have a minimum of three years of industry experience.

The selection process will comprise an entrance examination conducted by the Department of Management Studies, followed by a personal interview.

The programme has been designed to equip working professionals with advanced management and leadership skills while enabling them to continue their professional commitments.

The course is structured around three major components — functional foundations, cross-functional business decision-making and global leadership.

It also includes two capstone projects aimed at providing participants with opportunities to apply management concepts to real-world business challenges.

Professor Saji K Mathew, Head of the Department of Management Studies, said the programme attracts professionals from diverse industries, with participants having an average work experience of 12 years.

He said the programme draws on the department's faculty expertise, research capabilities and experiential learning methods to strengthen participants' managerial and leadership competencies.

The institute said the alternate-weekend format would allow professionals to pursue advanced management education without interrupting their careers.
