Srinagar, Sep 06 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir police Sunday said to have seized huge quantity of illegal alcohol and Fukki during a naka checking at Qazigund’s South Kashmir.
According to police statement issued to KNS reads, In its continued efforts to eradicate the menace of drug peddling in Kulgam , Police Station Qazigund arrested five drug peddlers during naka checking and raids of Dhaba at NHW Qaziund.

During surprise naka checking at NHW Police party from police Station Qazigund led by SDPO Qazigund Muhammad Shafiq , SHO Qazigund Irshad Reshi along with police team raided Pathan Kotia Vaishno Dhaba located at Driyan crossing Qzd highway and recovered huge quantity of banned alcohol bottles and other banned drugs.

According to reports during search in the Dhaba police team recovered 1642 Alchol Bottles ,186 kg Poppy Straw,200 Grm Charas under NDPS and excise act and arrested drug Mafia dealers namely Anchal Singh S/o Shiv Lal Singh R/o Batote Ramban ,Raju Singh S/o Lajpat Singh R.o Kud Chenani Dist. Udhampur,
,Rajesh Kumar S/o Satpal Singh R/o Talab Tilloo Jammu,Pratap Singh S/o pPayaar Singh R/o Dogar Kud Chanani Dist Udhampur,Shakeel Ah Wani S/o Noor Mohd Wani R/o Panzath wanpora.

All the accused were arrested and huge contraband seized on spot.

Reportedly one Zahoor Ahmed Sheikh owners of the Dhaba fled from the spot and police launched searches in the area to nab the Drug peddler.

In this connection Case FIR No. 251 /2020 U/S 50 Excise Act has been registered in Police Station Qazigund & investigation is on .

People of the area have hailed the swift action of SDPO Qazigund Muhammad Shafiq and SHO Qazigund Irshad Reshi against drug peddlers of the area and demanded strict action against these drug paddlers who created a mess in the area. (KNS)
