Uri, Mar 18 (KNS): While setting an example of communal harmony, large number of people and students on Friday celebrated Holi in north Kashmir’s Uri.
 
The students of Girls Higher Secondary School, Uri lit with joy when the vice-principal, Jaleel Ahmad Baig invited them for lunch and wished them Happy Holi. Before lunch, a small ceremony was held in the school auditorium in which all the staff members took part.
 
The speakers at the occasion expressed their joy at the initiative taken by the school vice principal and appreciated him for the good will gesture. 
 
The ceremony was later joined in by Baharat Kumar Chairman Municipal Council Uri, Junaid Wali SDPO Uri Junaid Wali, SHO Uri Deeraj Kumar Dysp (Prob) and SHO Bijhama Amardeep Parihar, Chairman Hope on Earth Nadeem Khawaja Uri, and some civil society members from Hindu community.
 
Speaking on the occasion SDPO Uri, Junaid Wali appreciated the school administration for setting an example of communal harmony and brotherhood in critical times. The overjoyed students expressed their joy and thanked the school management for their love and respect.
 
Jaleel Ahmad, Principal of the school in his concluding remarks thanked all the participants especially the students for accepting his invitation. He said the students who passed out from GHSS Uri will always give a message of peace, harmony, brotherhood and love'.(KNS)
