Hate Speech Row: BJP relieves Ex-MLC from Jammu from all party posts

Srinagar, Nov 02 (KNS): The Bharatiya Janta Party on Tuesday relieved ex-MLC from Jammu, Vikram Randhawa from all the party posts and responsibilities over his hate speech statement against a particular community. 

In an order, a copy of which lies with Kashmir News Service (KNS), BJP president J&K Unit, Ravinder Raina said that Vikram Randhawa (Former MLC) is relieved from all the party posts and responsibilities including the post of BJP JK-UT Secretary with immediate effect.

In the order he also stated that BJP JK-UT vice-president Sham Choudhary (Former Minister & Ex-MLA Suchetgarh) shall be the new Prabhari or incharge for District Rajouri.

On Monday, BJP’s disciplinary committee had asked the former MLC to explain his position over his derogatory and hate speech remarks within 48 hours and also directed him to tender a public apology for the same.

Notably, Vikram Randhawa had made derogatory and hate speech remarks against a particular community, following which he received severe criticism from several political parties and BJP as well. (KNS)
