Handwara October 29:(KNS) In the memory of Police martyrs and to pay rich tributes to them, Handwara Police today under the banner of “Police Martyr’s Memorial Sports Festival” organized a cultural programme at Police Lines Handwara.

The event was inaugurated by DySP DAR Handwara Shri Ab Rakeeb Malik-JKPS under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Handwara Dr. G.V Sundeep Chakravarthy-IPS. Besides officers from CRPF, SSB, Civil administration, prominent citizens and youth also witnessed the event.

Various Singers, Artists, Dancers etc participated in the cultural programme. At the outset of the programme, one minute silence was observed to remember the courage and valour of our brave martyrs who have laid their lives for the unity and integrity of the Nation as well as in protecting the life and property of the people.

The motto behind holding such programme by Handwara Police was to move a step towards the betterment of society for creating general awareness among the people and to provide a platform to the young budding and enthusiastic artists by showcasing their talent.

At the end of the cultural programme, DySP DAR Handwara distributed commendation certificates and Trophies among all participants. Handwara Police also thanked the artists, media persons and the people who joined and made the programme successful.(KNS)
