Handwara December 19:(KNS)N On the directions of Superintendent of Police Handwara Dr. G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy-IPS Handwara Police organised a drug de-addiction rally in collaboration with several Schools of Handwara area. The Students and Police personnel took out a rally holding banners and placards against the sale and use of illicit drugs from Degree College Handwara to New Bus Stand passing through town Handwara.

The rally was led by ASP Handwara Shri Mashkoor Ahmad-JKPS besides DySP DAR Handwara Shri Raqeeb Malik-JKPS and SHO Police Station Handwara also participated the rally.

The participants of the rally were carrying placards of different slogans about the causes and consequences of illegal use of drugs. Announcement via loudspeakers was also made to make aware the general public about the dangers posed by drug addiction to youth in their early age.

Among others who attended the drug de-addiction rally include members from Municipal Committee Handwara and respectables of Handwara and its adjacent villages.

The main aim of the rally was to aware the public of Handwara especially the young generation about the ill effects of drugs and the role of citizens in eradicating this menace from the society.
The leading officers appealed the general public to prove yourself as responsible citizens by cooperating police in sharing all information related to illegal use and trade of drugs.

General public of the area applauded the act  of Handwara police and assured their cooperation in sharing all information related illegal use of drugs.(KNS)
