Srinagar, Nov 08 (KNS): Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People’s Democratic Front (J&KPDF) and former Minister Hakeem Mohammed Yaseen on Monday urged Narendra Modi led central government to take all possible measures to stop the bloodshed in the Valley.

While condemning the killing of Policeman Tawseef Ahmad Wani in Batamaloo by unknown gunmen is unfortunate. For how many days, people of Jammu and Kashmir will be left to count the number of killings of their dear ones, there is a need to take some steps to overcome these things, he said.

"We urge Modi-led central government, who has a bigger mandate given by people of the country to take some concrete measures to stop this bloodshed in Kashmir. People need peace and prosperity, not bloodshed and violence," Hakeem said.

The senior leader said if these steps will be taken, then peace would prevail in the region and it will be the biggest contribution of the central government.

Hakeem also expressed his grief over the sudden demise of journalist Shahid Bukhari, who died due to cardiac arrest on Sunday afternoon.

'He was the voice of the voiceless and was an inspiration to scores of budding journalists in the Valley. Bukhari will be always remembered for his bold journalism and reporting," he said.

Hakeem also offered sympathies with the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and courage for the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss. (KNS)
