Assembly elections only way forward to remove prevailing unrest, socio-political uncertainty in JK

Srinagar, Oct 03 (KNS): Chairman People's Democratic Front (PDF) Hakeem Yaseen has expressed serious concern over the recent spate in civilian killings by unknown gunmen in various areas in Kashmir, lately in Karan Nagar and Batamaloo localities of Srinagar district. He has demanded a thorough probe into these mysterious killings to book the culprits . He has also demanded strict action against divisive elements indulged in disrespecting religious places of fellow communities with the nefarious designs to harm the age old traditions of communal harmony and brother hood in Jammu and Kashmir. He said alleged hurting of religious sentiments of fellow communities in Matram Anantnag was against tenants of of all religions and highly condemnable.

“Communal harmony, brother hood and religious tolerance are the hallmark of composite culture and ethos of Jammu and Kashmir which should be preserved at any cost, Hakeem Yaseen said while addressing one day convention of the PDF workers and office bearers of block Waterhail, Budgam on Sunday.

Dewelling about the ground situation in Jammu and Kashmir, Hakeem Yaseen said that holding of early assembly elections was the only way forward to end prevailing administrative breakdown , brewing anger among the unemployed youth and uncertainty about socio- political future in Jammu and Kashmir .

“The patience of people, for meeting their day to day needs , has reached to the end and the frightening silence seen around could burst anytime like a devastating volcano if elected civilian government was not established in Jammu and Kashmir at the earliest,” nect in bureaucracy , the common people feel themselves like caged as they have no access to seek redressal of their problems .He said people's right to live an honorable life got usurped arbitrarily post August 5, 2019, which has shaken their trust, faith as well as confidence on the mainstream.

Observing that the people of Jammu and Kashmir want to live a dignified life with integrity, PDF Chairman urged the Centre to embrace and hug them in a such a way that they feel proud citizens. “Centre should changed the law's to empower Jammu and Kashmir and it's people but Alas! they have instead it has downgraded and disrespected them , Hakeem Yaseen regretted .He urged the centre to remove prevailing mistrust and alienation among the people of Jammu and Kashmir by way of respecting thier socio- political and developmental aspirations . " This initiative would also help to dispel the worldwide notion that India was an occupational country viza viz Jammu and Kashmir ," Hakeem Yaseen maintained adding that regaining people's trust and confidence was imperative to win their hearts and minds. He said history was testimony that People's trust could never be won without love, affection and sincerely.

Hakeem Yaseen also rued administration for its lackadaisical approach to solve the day to day problems of people. He said there was no accountability in government offices adding that the common men have been pushed to wall." Unemployment has taken heavy toll of the youth making them vulnerable victims of drug menace and alarming suicides," Hakeem Yaseen added. He said government has bitterly failed to check skyrocketing prices of essential commodities leaving poor consumers at the mercy of unscrupulous profiteers.

PDF Chairman has urged the district administration Budgam to make advanced arrangements for ensuring availability of adequate power and drinking water supply to the people especially during the ensuring winter months. (KNS)
