Hakeem Yaseen condemnes assault on journalists in Kakapora Pulwama

Srinagar, Sept 16 (KNS): Chairman People's Democratic Front ( PDF) Hakeem Haseen has strongly condemned thrashing of two photojournalists by the police while they were covering a gunfight between militants and security forces at a village in south Kashmir’s Pulwama on Tuesday.
In a statement issued to KNS, Hakeem while condemning the incident of assault on the journalists, has urged the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to take strong action against the guilty cops . He said police and security forces should be sensitised to deal property with the journalists so that they can discharge their professional duties without any fear and difficulty. Hakeem Yaseen said it was unfortunate that incidents like thrashing and assault on journalists have been occurring repeatedly in Jammu and Kashmir particularly in kashmir valley to stop them from reporting various types of law and order situations freely.
PDF Chairman said journalism is the fourth pillar of democracy and the government was duty bound to provide due security to the journalists to facilitate them discharge their professional duties adequately without any hindrances.
