Srinagar, Mar 15  (KNS) :  Chairman People's Democratic Front (PDF ) Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen has expressed concern over the Karnataka High court’s verdict about upholding ban on Hijab  inside the state-run schools in the state. 
 
 In a statement to Kashmir News Service (KNS),  on Tuesday , Hakeem Yaseen while expressing concern over  the verdict of the Karnataka High Court to continue ban on wearing Hijab by the girls inside schools , said the verdict amounts to direct infringement in the religious affairs of minority community of  Muslims . He said wearing  Hijab was an essential obligation of Islamic teachings and dress code . " Wearing  Hijab was not only a religious obligation in Islam but also freedom of choice which has got usurped by the verdict of the Karnaty High court ," Hakeem Yaseen maintained .
 
PDF Chairman said that India being one of the greatest democracies in the world , should respect right to religious freedom of   its citizens especially of the minority communities . He has urged the Centre not to fiddle with the religious affairs of Muslims  and ensure full religious freedom to  all  minority communities.(KNS)
