Hajini Grieved over demise of N. D. Sharma, Fida Rajourvi


Handwara, June 24 (KNS): Noted writer and convener Northern Regional Board Sahitya Aakademi New Delhi, Dr Aziz Hajini has expressed heartfelt grief on sad demise of Prof Neelambar Dev Sharma and Fida Rajourvi, two eminent literary personalities of Jammu and Kashmir.
A well known english and dogri writer N. D.Sharma, who served as secretary and vice president of J and k Academy of Art, culture and languages for about four years, passed away at New Delhi Yesterday evening. His english book An Introduction to Dogri Language and Literature had proved very beneficial to introduce this language and it's literature globally.
Ab Rashid Fida who passed away today morning at his native village Behroot Thana Mundi Rajouri,has about twenty published books to his credit. His six books are under print at present. He was writing in kashmiri, urdu, pahari and gojri languages. Fida worked tirelessly for preservation and promotion of kahmiri language and it's literature in pirpanchal region of jammu division throughout his life. He was member of the kashmiri Advisory Board of Sahitya Akdemi from 2008 to 2012, he said in a statement issued to KNS.
"His death has created a void in kashmiri language and literature which is difficult to be filled in. " said Hajini while paying glowing tributes to late Fida Rajourvi. He further said in his condolence message that he had personal relationship with both the deceased writers and had been meeting them frequently. "Just this year in the month of January, I went to Behroot Thanamundi and met Fida sahib and his brother Shahbaz Rajourvi sahib. Despite being ill, he met me passionately "Said Hajini while recalling the lovable literary doyens of Kashmiri and Dogri languages. (KNS)
