Srinagar, June 23 (KNS): A gunfight broke out between militants and the security forces in South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Wednesday, officials said.

An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the gunfight broke out in Shirmal area of Shopian today.

Meanwhile, Kashmir Zone Police on its official Twitter handle said: “Encounter has started at Shirmal area of #Shopian. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow.” (KNS)
