Srinagar, July 19 (KNS): Heavy rains have caused significant damage to several houses in Saifudin Pora locality of Rajaouri Kadal in Srinagar with the ground floors of some houses being submerged under water.
Reports reaching to Kashmir News Service (KNS) said that ground floors of several residential houses got submerged followinf heavy rainfall today morning.
Residents alleged that with every rainfall, ground floors get flooded due to lack of proper drainage system in the area.
They further said that despite repeatedly requests, authorities concerned have failed to address the issue and fix the drainage system.
Meanwhile, the affected residents have appealed to the administration, particularly municipal authorities, to visit the area and assess the extent of the damage.
They stressed that immediate action is needed to find a solution and prevent further hardship to the people in the area. (KNS)
