Govt’s highhandedness prevented PDP from holding peaceful youth convention: Rouf Bhat

Srinagar, Dec 12 (KNS): People’s Democratic Party senior leader, Rouf Bhat on Sunday said that it is unfortunate that highhandedness of the government prevented them from holding a peaceful youth convention at Gupkar today.

Addressing party workers, Bhat said that while other parties like National Conference and Apni Party hold meetings and youth programs everyday but their party was disallowed to hold even a youth program today.

He said that there is bloodshed every day in the valley and they have to fight against this injustice. “No messiah will come to help us as Almighty helps those who help themselves. The bloodshed needs to be stopped. But it would not stop until we all stay united and fight against the oppression. We have to distinguish between right and wrong,” he added.

He said that if today it is one person, next day it could be anyone and this chain would continue until future generations will get destroyed.

“Our land rights and job rights are being snatched. So it is important to unite and raise voice against this injustice. We should pray to Almighthy that we all should live and die with bravery. We don’t have to bow down our heads before oppression. If we bow down our heads before oppression then it will continue till eternity,” he said.

Bhat said that everyday new decisions come from New Delhi and the youth are being arrested, while employees are being terminated from their services. (KNS)
