Srinagar, Jan 13 (KNS) ; The Jammu and Kashmir administration dismissed five government employees for their alleged involvement with banned terrorist organisations, marking a significant step to dismantle support networks embedded within public institutions.
Sources told News Agency Kashmir News Service (KNS), the termination orders was issued by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha after investigations confirmed the employees maintained clandestine links with proscribed outfits, including Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen.
Official sources said that the accused individuals, occupying positions across several departments, had exploited their official roles to provide logistical support, facilitate communications, and otherwise aid terrorist activities — all while continuing to draw salaries from the state treasury.
The dismissed employees have been identified as Mohd Ishfaq, a teacher, Tariq Ahmad Shah, a laboratory technician, Bashir Ahmad Mir, an assistant lineman, Farooq Ahmad Bhat, a field worker in the Forest Department Mohd Yousuf, a driver in the Health Department.

A senior administration official told news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the action underscores a strict zero-tolerance policy toward terrorism and its sympathisers within the government. “These individuals betrayed public trust and compromised state security from within. Such decisive measures are imperative to uphold the integrity of our institutions,” the official stated.
The dismissals form part of a continued drive to root out alleged terror ecosystems that have infiltrated sections of the civilian administration in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. (KNS)
