GMC Anantnag has 25 Percent bed occupancy, total 800 Covid bed strength in district : Div Com Kashmir

Srinagar, May 7 (KNS): Divisional Commissioner Kashmir P K Pole on Friday visited GMC Anantnag to review the covid19  related arrangements. 

Speaking to media in Anantnag, P K Pole said that Anantnag has around 13 lac population and people from Kulgam and Pulwama are also visiting GMC Anantnag for the treatment. 

"Right now, the GMC Anantnag has only 25% occupancy. However we are continuously extending facilities to deal with any situation that may arise in future,."
He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Dr Piyush Singla and other senior officers of health and civil administration.

"Administration is prepared for the worst. In South Kashmir we are fully prepared.
We have sufficient availability of oxygen, and medicine in our South Kashmir hospital's,." he told reporters.

Divisional Commissioner said bed capacity has been extended to around  800 including isolation beds in the district. 
"From last year, our health workers are fighting with this pandemic, serving people day in and day out. Many front line health workers including doctors have tested positive, even some of them sacrificed their lives while fighting this deadly disease. We are proud of our health workers and we should recognize their work. This is the time they have to support people,"he added. 

Divisional commissioner appealed people to pray to God and seek relief from this pandemic. 
"We have to work together to defeat this deadly virus. People should strictly adhere the government guidelines, SoPs and should wash hands regularly."
He also asked people to consume immunity boosters and utilize healthy food. (KNS)
