JAMMU, MAY 19 (KNS): Apni Party Senior Vice President, Ghulam Hassan Mir has appealed to the Govt to promote border tourism in R.S. Pura and develop the infrastructure of the border areas.

Mir gave this statement during a joining programme which was organized by Provincial Secretary, Women Wing, Adv Nisha Kumari. On this occasion, two prominent Advocates namely Adv Paramjeet Singh and Adv Rohit Jalotra joined the Apni Party from R.S. Pura.

Provincial President Jammu Manjit Singh, Apni Party Spokesperson, Senior Advocate Nirmal Kotwal among other party leaders were also present in the joining programme.

Welcoming them into the party, he hoped that their joining would strengthen the Party and appealed to the Party leaders to work among the people to highlight their issues for early redressal.

He referred to the underdevelopment and poor road connectivity in RS Pura and its villages and demanded that equitable developmental activities should be taken up. He said that the people have raised developmental related issues.

“We have ample potential to promote border tourism in RS Pura, Suchetgarh and Arnia and all the villages on the border but the department concerned seems not willing to upgrade the infrastructure. The need for road widening from RS Pura towards Suchetgarh and other border areas are required,” he said.

He said that the border villages grow world famous basmati rice but there is a poor promotional aspect from the Govt department. He also said that the unscheduled power cuts have affected the drinking water supply and the farmers are among the worst sufferers. (KNS)
