Tral, 27 Dec (KNS): A One Day Workshop on Information and Communication Technology with special emphasis on “Online Teaching-Learning through Cisco WebEx” was held on Saturday (26th December), at Govt. Degree College, Tral.

According to KNS Correspondent, The workshop was organized by the Psychological Career Counselling Cell in collaboration with the Debates and Seminar Committee of the college.

The program started with the inaugural address of the worthy Principal Prof. (Dr.) Bashir Ahmad Mir in which he highlighted the role of ICT in providing an alternative to offline teaching -learning process in the present crisis.

He also vociferated that ICT is an imperative tool in the contemporary world in proliferation of knowledge.

Convenor Psychological and Career Counselling Cell Prof. A G Kumar in his keynote address listed plethora of web based platforms used for online teaching learning.

In the technical session, the resource person Mr. Aabid Hussain Tak (IT Head Financial Services, J&K Bank Limited) delivered an activity based comprehensive presentation followed by live demonstration of the Cisco WebEx application.

He explained the myriad uses, security attributes and support of the application.

It was followed by the vibrant interactive session in which the participants of different departments of the college and students of all semesters actively participated and cleared their doubts.

Prof. Mohd Syed Lone of Functional English conducted the proceedings of the program and Prof. Laila Khalid of Department of English proposed the vote of thanks(KNS).
