GDC Kalakote celebrates World Photography Day


Rajori August, 19:(KNS) World photography day was today observed by the Government Degree College Kalakote by organizing online National level photography competition.

The contest was held in collaboration with RED RIBBON CLUB AND JKACS.

Various themes such as nature, independence, and COVID-19 were given to the participants to showcase their talent.

Participants from different level of institutions, Schools, Colleges and Universities actively participated. Honey Bharali, student of M.A Sociology from Jamia Milia Islamia, depicted a city kid celebrating the essence of freedom amidst nature during COVID-19.

Competition was judged by Dr. Parmil Kumar, Associate Professor in Statistics at University of Jammu and an avid photographer too. He is an acclaimed natural landscape and wildlife Photographer.

Recently, his sixteen photographs were selected by largest database of the world, Cornell Lab of USA. He is also on the panel as judge /experts of photography to various Govt. Institutes.

As per his observations, Rizwan Ahmed Hakak of Tyndale Biscoe school Srinagar and Raja MananYahya of GD Goenka public school Srinagar shared the first position, Honey Bharali, student of M.A sociology from JamiaMiliaIslamia, New Delhi and NirvaanMahajan of GCET, Jammu, shared the second position, while third position was shared by Sakshi Dutt andAshu Devi of GDC kalakote.

Prof.(Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal of the College lauded the organizers and encouraged them to organize more such events in the future so that the maximum students can benefit and refine their skills.

Prof. Sachin Kumar Bhagat, was the organizer of the whole event who is also actively engaged in bird photography and also inspires many of the students of his institution to actively participate in the upcoming more such events.(KNS)
