Frequent, prolonged power cuts irks Karnah residents

Karnah, Nov 8 (KNS): With the onset of winter frequent power cuts in Karnah in north Kashmir's Kupwara district gives tough time to the residents.

According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), the resident of Karnah are up in arms against the Power Development Department for failing to provide adequate power supply during the initial phase of winter.

The resident of this border town alleged that 
PDD compels it's consumers to live in dark age as electricity plays hide and seek in the area. The locals are facing 15-hour long power cuts daily which as per locals are the worst prolonged power cuts being observed from last one week with the onset of winter.

They said that the power supply to border town of Karnah is worsening with every passing day.

“We have witnessed such power cuts during the months of January and February when winter was on its peak but not in early phase of winter. We are first time experiencing such a major breakdown in the supply", locals alleged.

"When there is no power supply for consumers then what for monthly bills being served", Fayaz Ahmad a locals said.(KNS)
