Srinagar Dec 28 (KNS) : Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar, Senior Political Leader and former Member J&K Legislative Assembly from Ganderbal Wednesday called on MD KPDCL, Chief Engineer Jal Shakti (PHE) Chief Engineer (I&FC), Chief Engineer R&B and raised various issues of public importance with them.
Jabbar briefed them about the ongoing schemes in Ganderbal district and projected certain demands for the balanced development of Ganderbal district. He also discussed with them certain impediments which were delaying the implementation of several important development schemes in Ganderbal district.
With MD KPDCL the former MLA raised the issue of hike in electricity tariff and load and demands to spare the BPL consumers and middle-class users from power tariff hike and consumer load.
He said that the hike in electricity tariff and load has badly hit the poor consumers.
He also raised with him creation and upgradation of transformers and issues relating to the improvement of HT/LT lines, replacement of poles in different areas of Ganderbal.
MD KPDCL asked SE who was also present during the meeting to urgently examine the issues raised by the former MLA examined for necessary decisions and directions.
Mr Jabbar demanded early completion of different ongoing PHE schemes in Ganderbal district during his meeting with Chief Engineer Jal Shaki. He discussed with him Lari Preng water supply scheme, Badurkund Scheme, Wutlar, Repora , Waliwar , Badampora, Gutlibagh, Khalmulla and other water supply schemes.
He also raised with him issue of defunct tube wells and demands immediate restoration of these tube wells. Sheikh demanded that the department should sanction extra deep well hand pumps to the upper reaches especially Gutlibagh, Yarmuqam and waliwar areas of the district.
Sheikh also demanded roll back/concession of water fee of rural Faaq area who fall in district Ganderbal.
Jabbar urged Chief Engineer I&FC that a water supply scheme can be constructed at Maldoh. He demanded diversion of water at Maldoh which can irrigate hundreds of Canals of land. He also raised issue of drugging of Tullamulla Nallah and other Canals, restoration and drugging of irrigation Canals.
During the meeting with Chief Engineer R&B Kashmir Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar raised the issue up-gradation and macdamization of roads and bridges. He discussed with him the construction of Pahribal-Takanwari Bridge, Wayil bridge besides upgradation of Chattergul Brindara road, Hayan Road and other roads of the district.
Sheikh also telephonically contacted Chief Engineer PMGSY and demanded upgradation/macdamization of roads under PMGSY. Sheikh said that the few roads are in deteriorating condition. He discussed with her Wahidpora Lar Road, Gangerhama , Harran, Gadoora and other roads.
They assured Sheikh Ishfaq that all his genuine demands would be addressed at an earliest.
