Jammu, Feb 13 (KNS): Former Forest Minister and ex-MLA from Devsar constituency Peerzada Ghulam Ahmad Shah passed away in Jammu on Friday after a prolonged illness, family sources said.
Shah had been undergoing treatment for some time and breathed his last in the winter capital this afternoon.
A veteran political figure from the Qazigund area of south Kashmir, Shah represented the Devsar segment in the erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly.

As Forest Minister, he handled matters related to forest administration and conservation, and was involved in policy and departmental affairs during his stint in office.
He is the uncle of sitting Qazigund MLA Peerzada Feroze Ahmad Shah.
News of his demise drew condolences from political leaders, party workers and residents across Qazigund and adjoining areas, who remembered him for his public engagement and role in regional politics.(KNS).
