Fire Under Control, Say Officials

Sopore, Jan 13 (KNS): A fire broke out on Tuesday evening in the Kandi Forest Range of Sopore, causing concern among local residents and forest officials.

 
Reports reaching news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) stated that the blaze originated in Compartment No. 23 of the forest range, where dry vegetation and forest litter quickly ignited.
 
Soon after the incident was detected, forest department officials rushed to the scene and initiated firefighting operations.
 
Speaking with news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) Forest Area In-charge Officer Mohammad Yousuf said that, with the help of local volunteers, efforts were made to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to adjoining compartments.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
 
He confirmed that no loss of human life or property has been reported r.
 
The officer appealed to the public to remain vigilant and to avoid activities that could trigger forest fires, especially during dry seasons. (KNS)
