Forest department using old polythene envelopes to make nursery in Kangan

Ganderbal: Forest Department is setting up a nursery in Zirpora Kullan area of Central  Kashmirs Ganderbal district in which small trees are being planted in the nursery but the irony is the fresh nursery is being covered with old polythene and sub standard material. 

Reliable sources said Kashmir News Service (KNS), that the nursery is being established by the forest department in Zirpura Kullan, for which the department is directed to use fresh polythene envelopes for small trees (Kail and Deodar) and fill them with clean soil, but forest department taking advantage of present situation in Valley are bringing the old polythene and planting the trees inside in the nursery. 

The sources said that if forest department has directed by the officials to buy fresh polythene from the market, but they are taking advantage of lockdown in Kashmir valley and brought old polythene from Hayan nursery and washed in which small plants were planted.

Sources further revealed that If the department has to bring clean soil from another place and they have to fill the plants, but they are illegally removing the soil from the same nursery and planting these small trees. They also added that 35 thousand small trees are to be planted in this nursery.

Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Ganderbal  Mir Owais Ahmad said that we are allowed to use old polythene to be stirred and planted in the nursery. (KNS)
