Srinagar, Jan 28 (KNS): President Federation Chamber of Industries Kashmir Shahid Kamli today welcomed the enhancement of rate of stipend to the trainees of training centers run by Handicrafts and Handloom department.

 

FCIK president Kamli said it will help the artisan community at large besides improving the social and economic conditions of J&K artisans.

He added that stipend enhancement would help in renewing the interest of trainees in learning the art and craft of Kashmir. 

He added that it is heartning to see that Government is taking care of artisans and is keen to pass on the craft skills to the younger generation so that they can safeguard brand Kashmir in future.

He stressed on the Government to take further steps in brand building of exquisite hand-made products from Kashmir that hold sway, both in domestic and global markets.

 

President FCIK has expressed his gratitude to Commissioner Secretary Industries and Commerce Manoj Kumar Divedi and Director Handicrafts and Handlooms Mehmood Ahmed Shah for taking initiative which would go a long way in promotion of handicrafts of Kashmir. (KNS)
