Father of minor boy alleges authorities of giving him expired injection at DH Bandipora

Bandipora, May 08 (KNS): Father of an eight-year-old patient on Sunday alleged that he was given an expired injection after a doctor prescribed medicines for his sick child at district hospital Bandipora even as the hospital administration denied the allegations.

Suhail Ahmad, father of the patient said that he brought his son to DH Bandipora after he fell sick, following which a doctor present at the hospital prescribed him an Ondem injection.

"I went to the hospital drug counter, where I was told that thie injection was not available and I was given an alternative injection Metclopramide," he said.

He, however, alleged that the expiry date of the said injection was over by two months. “When I asked the people at the drug counter about the same they told me that it happens sometimes as there may be some expired medicines in a lot,” he alleged.

Meanwhile, the hospital authorities denied the allegations and said that the hospital supply including drugs and injections was received recently. (KNS)
