Famous Indian cricketer Yousuf Pathan attends cricket workshop organised by Army in Lolab

Kupwara, Aug 31 (KNS): To nurture the passion of Cricket among youth of North Kashmir, RR Unit of Lolab under the aegis of Charkut Garrison organised a Workshop cum Practice Session for the Budding Cricketers of the region at Chandigam Model Village ground, Lolab Valley. 

In a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), a spokesperson said that the workshop was conducted by renowned Indian Cricketer Yusuf Pathan who is the Brand Ambassador of Cricket for J&K. 

“The workshop commenced at 10 am in the morning and the session ended by  6 pm in the evening. A total of 50 budding cricketer’s across Kupwara, Handwara, Bandipora and adjoining districts attended the workshop and got benefitted on aspects of technique and batting/ bowling skills,” reads that statement.

It reads that Yusuf Pathan on his arrival at the venue interacted with all budding cricketer’s while showering his special appreciation to Master Sikender Hyder Mir. 

Sikender Hyder Mir is a 6-year-old boy expected to be named in Guiness Book of World Records for being the youngest cricketer in the world and is aspiring to participate in Under 14 Cricket team of UT of J & K.

“Being an All Rounder during the workshop Mr Yusuf Pathan used his expertise and skills to hone the talent of young cricketers with his trademark flamboyance and gusto. The passion and commitment exhibited by the young players to learn and improve was not only applauded by the Indian Cricketer, but also by the large gathering in attendance including the satisfied parents of some young players,” it reads.

The statement reads that at the end, Yusuf Pathan signed his autograph as a token of remembrance on miniature cricket bats and balls which were presented to the budding cricketer’s.

“The day-long Cricket Workshop by Yusuf Pathan has left a lasting impact on the youth of the region and has given a favourable impetus to the overall upliftment of Sports in the region.”

It reads that the event has reverberated among the citizens of North Kashmir as a symbol, which demonstrates Sports emerging to centre stage of Youth’s Conscience and Dreams. (KNS)
