‘Announce loan Interest waivers for traders and transporters in J&K’

SRINAGAR, May 18 (KNS): Municipal Chairman Chadoora Fahad Andrabi on Tuesday at the sidelines of a meeting with Baseer Khan, the Advisor to Lt. Governor J&K at Budgam, apprised the advisor about the ground situation in relation to the Covid-19 pandemic and a myriad of problems faced by the general public due to it.

He requested for further augmentation of requisite medical facilities in the district and sub-district hospitals and Health centres so that the people can have easy access to the much-needed medical care during the pandemic.

Furthermore, Fahad Andrabi stressed over the economic repercussions faced by the traders and businessmen in Jammu and Kashmir as the incessant lockdowns have caused immense loss to the business fraternity.

He also raised the plea of JK transporters whose condition have deteriorated as they have faced the brunt of the current prevailing situation and are yearning for panacea from the UT government.

Fahad Andrabi requested for a one-time loan interest waiver scheme for the business class and transporters of J&K, in order to relieve them from the heavy burden of interest and save their business from being categorised as NPA and bad loans. He said that such classes have been profoundly affected and it becomes a moral obligation upon the government to save them from such a perilous condition.

He said that such a move remains highly imperative as many states and even countries around the world have taken such steps to keep their respective economies stable and healthy in regards to inflation and economic depression.

At the end of the meet, Baseer Khan assured that all the necessary steps will be taken for the welfare of the people and a positive consideration will be accorded to the important points and suggestions made by Fahad Andrabi on a priority basis.(KNS)
