Faculty of Forestry, SKUAST-Kashmir in Collaboration with GDV Sumbal Launches One-Week Training Program on Statistical Softwares Sponsored by Ministry of MSME, GOI

Srinagar December 06 (KNS):  The Division of Social and Basic Sciences at the Faculty of Forestry, SKUAST-Kashmir, in Collaboration with Government degree college Sumbal  has inaugurated a one-week training program titled "Use of Statistical Software’s in Business Management and Allied Sectors." The event took place at the GDC, Sumbal and is scheduled to run from December  06th  to 12th , 2023.

The inaugural event commenced with a warm welcome from Prof. Mushtaq Ahmad Wani , Head Department of Statistics s, GDC Sumbal. He emphasized the crucial role of encouraging participants to become job providers  and  gave  a comprehensive overview of the training program, underscoring the significance of statistical packages in contemporary sciences and business sectors . As program Coordinator, Dr. M. Iqbal Jeelani shed light on various aspects of the training program, emphasizing its hands-on approach. The program aims to equip participants with advanced data analysis skills that are crucial in both scientific and business management contexts with respect to statistical packages. Prof. S.N Geelani, Head , Division of Social & Basic Sciences, give a detailed view about role of Data science in modern world and importance of Statistical package skill in business industries.
 
Prof. Shabeena Iqbal Shawl, Princpal GDC, Sumbal and Chief Guest for the event, stressed the necessity of such programs in promoting use of statistical packages, especially among educated youth. He expressed optimism that this training program would significantly benefit the participants.
The inaugural event witnessed the presence of teaching and non-teaching staff of the GDC Sumbal,  along with participants from various fields. The  event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Adil  Assistant Professor GDC Sumbal. Dr. S.N Geelani, expressed gratitude for the support and efforts of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. N.A Ganie and Director Planning and Monitoring Prof. H. R. Naik, as well as Dean Faculty of Forestry. The coordinator also extended appreciation to the sponsoring agency, the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) of the Government of India, based in New Delhi.(KNS)
