Srinagar, Sep 06 (KNS) Encounter started between militants and government forces inPoshkreeri area of Anantnag in Southern Kashmir district on Tuesday.
An official said that a joint team of Police and army launched a cordon and search operation in the area. "As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off an gunfight," he said.
"Encounter has started at Poshkreeri area of Anantnag. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow," Kashmir Zone Police in a tweet while confirming the Gunfight.(KNS)
