Pattan May 04: (KNS): A gunfight has broken out between security forces and militants in Wanigam payeen area of North Kashmir's Baramulla district on Thursday Morning
Official Sources told Kashmir News service (KNS) that a team of Police, Army's 29RR & CRPF jointly launched Cardon & Search operation in Wanigam payeen kreeri following inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
As forces reached to the suspected spot the hiding militants fired upon them which was retaliated, triggering an encounter.
Official sources said that the contact with the hiding militants has been established and gunfight is underway.
As per Sources 1-2 militants are believed to be trapped. More details shall follow. (KNS)
