Electrical Appliances Damaged, Electricity Affected as 11 KV Line Falls on LT in Bandipora

Srinagar, Apr 14 (KNS): An 11 KV line falling onto an LT line in Nadihal village of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Saturday evening caused a short circuit, damaging several electric appliances while left several areas without electricity 

According to Kashmir News Service (KNS) Correspondent, there were no injuries reported in the accident, although several electronic appliances belonging to Ghulam Ahmad Wani, a local resident were damaged.

Locals labeled the incident as sheer negligence on the part of the Power department, emphasizing that they had lodged complaints numerous times, yet no action was taken.

"During the incident, we felt totally helpless, and there was chaos in our locality. Although we had informed the concerned authorities earlier, they have yet to respond positively, and God forbid if any human casualty happened here, they will be responsible," said Wani

He demanded compensation for their losses and called for measures to prevent such incidents in the future. 

"It's crucial for authorities to inspect and upgrade electrical infrastructure to ensure safety," he said, adding that urgent action is needed to protect lives and property from similar dangers in the future.

"It's the second time this incident has occurred at the same line, and the concerned department and administration have yet to respond," he stated.

Meanwhile, the incident left several villages, including Gundpora-Rampora, along with their adjoining areas, without electricity since last night, prompting calls for the administration to address the issue promptly.(KNS).
