Handwara Nov 15 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a drug peddler and recovered a narcotics from him in Kralgund area of Handwara.

The police in its statement said that continuing its efforts against drug peddling, Handwara Police arrested one peddler and recovered narcotics in Kralgund area.

"Today a police party of Police Station Kralgund, while on patrolling at Khanoo Babagund area, apprehended one person who had attempted to evade the police party in a suspicious manner," the police said.

"On search, around 1.5 kg  of Charas like substance was recovered from his possession. The person has been identified as Irfan Ahmad Bhat S/o Mohammad Yousuf, R/o Panditpora," it said, adding that in relation to this, FIR No. 90/2022 U/s 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Kralgund and investigation has been initiated.(KNS)
