Handwara, May 20 (KNS); Handwara police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested a notorious drug peddler at Batagund crossing and have recovered 1Kg of charas and 46000 of cash from his passion.
A police statement issued to KNS reads based on reliable information a naka was laid at Batagund Crossing in the jurisdiction of Police Station Qalamabad. During checking search of a vehicle bearing registration No.DL14CF- 4560 one person namely Amir Ahmad resident of Adoora Qalamabad was apprehended and during his personal search 1 Kg Charas and Rs. 46000/- cash was recovered from his possession.
In this connection case FIR No. 50/2020 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered against him in Police Station Qalamabad and investigation taken up.
This effort is hugely hailed by the general masses. Handwara Police has appealed general public to co-operate in sharing all information related to drug abuse so that the curative steps can be initiated. (KNS)
