Drowning incident: Body of second sibling fished out after 24 hours from Jhelum waters in Baramulla

Baramulla, 29 Jan (KNS): Body of another youth, who had drowned in river Jhelum along with his brother near Khawaja Bagh area of Baramulla district yesterday, was fished out from Jhelum waters after 24 hours today morning. 

An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that body of Nisar Ahmad Malla son of Manzoor Ahmad Malla of Bandipora was retrieved today morning after hectic efforts by rescue teams.

Notably, two siblings had drowned in Jhelum while extracting sand near Khawaja Bagh area on Friday morning. 

Soon after the incident a rescue operation was launched to trace the duo, during which body of one of the siblings identified as Hilal Ahmad Malla was fished out in the evening, while search for another one continued. 

The official said that today morning, rescue teams were able to retrieve the body of another sibling as well.  

He said that after completing all medic-legal formalities, the police handed over the body to the family. (KNS)
