Karnah, Dec 20 (KNS): Driver of a vehicle was killed, while eight other passengers were injured after a vehicle, they were travelling in rolled down into a deep gorge near Niti top in Karnah area of Kupwara district on Monday morning.

An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) said the vehicle was on its way to Tanghdar from Gabra when it skidded off the road near Niti top, resulting in on spot death to its driver and injuries to 8 other passengers. 

The deceased has been identified as Intaqhab Ahmad Magray (38) son of Mohammad Seyab Magray resident of Gabray, while the injured were identified as Sumera Bano, Saira Bano daughters of Mohd Haroon, Ghulam Geelani son of Mohd Yousaf, Waqar Ahmad son of Naseer Ahmad, Zaffar Ahmad son of Mohd Zareen, Saqib Ahmad son of Mohd Rafiq, Sohail Ahmad son of Mohd Arif Khan--all residents of Gabra Karnah and Seerat Hafeez daughter of Mohammad Hafeez resident of Amrohi Karnah.

The official said that all the Injured were rushed to sub-district hospital Tanghdar for treatment, where their condition is stated to be stable. (KNS)
