Srinagar, Nov 03 (KNS): National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah Wednesday paid glowing tributes to noted Shia leader and scholar, Aga Syed Mehdi on his 21st Martyrdom Anniversary.

“Shaheed Aga Syed Mehdi Sahab was a man of the masses, he commanded an erudite personality. He worked tirelessly for the Socio-economic and political emancipation of people. A great son of the soil, his contribution to public life, his scholarly pursuits will continue to inspire many. On his martyrdom anniversary, I pay my tributes to him and pray to Almighty to elevate his stations in Jannat," he said.

Dr Farooq also visited the residence of Senior Party leader Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi in Budgam. On the occasion Dr Farooq Abdullah offered Fatiha for Shaheed Aga Syed Mehdi sahib, and prayed to Almighty to elevate his stations in Jannat. He was accompanied by Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, Central Zone President Ali Mohammad Dar and party functionaries.

NC Vice President Omar Abdullah also paid glowing tributes to Shaheed Aga Syed Mehdi and recollected the late leader’s numerous contributions to the society and community. “Shaheed Aga Sahab’s sacrifice cannot be forgotten. He laid down his life for the cardinal principles of truth, courage and peace. He lived his life for the people. On Aga Sahib’s 21st Death Anniversary today, I offer him my tributes,” he said.

Meanwhile Party General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, AGS Dr Sheikh Mustufa Kamal, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, Party Treasurer Shammi Oberoi, Senior leaders Mian Altaf, Mohammad Shafi Uri, AR Rather, Choudhary Ramzaan, Sakina Itoo, Shameema Firdous, Party MPs Muhammad Akbar Lone, Hasnain Masoodi, Zone Presidents Dr Bashir Veeri, Ali Mohammad Dar, Javed Dar, Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar, YNC Provincial President Salman Ali Sagar, District Presidents also paid glowing tributes to the late leader.
