Dr Darakshan along with business delegation from J&K call upon PM Modi

Srinagar, Apr 05 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board board chairperson, Dr Darakshan Andrabi along with a business delegation from Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi.

According to a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), the business delegation included president of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry (Inc), Sheikh Ashiq Ahmad, chairman Hoteliers Club, Mushtaq Ahmad Chaya, president J&K Hotel & Restaurant Association, Chowdhary Mohammad Showkat, chairman PHD Kashmir Chapter Baldev Singh Rana and few business persons.

The statement reads that they highlighted
urgent issues of business community of Jammu and Kashmir and the meeting was coordinated by chairpersons J&K Waqf Board, Dr Darakshan Andrabi.

As per the statement, Sheikh Ashiq gave a overview of the state of our economy, various issues and presented detailed memorandum to the Prime Minister.

“Demand of direct air connectivity to Jeddah and Dubai was made and revival of businesses was discussed in length and measures to encourage local industry and business so that people at large are engaged in business activities and will address the employment issue,” it reads.

It reads that three decades of turmoil and demand was made to settle the downgraded accounts for better tomorrow.

“Land related issues be it Roshni or lease land at Gulmarg & Pahalgam was also discussed. Establishing of Model Carpet Village was discussed in length and Prime Minister assured full support to promote GI tagged Kashmir Carpets world wide,” it reads.

It reads that PM Modi assured that due attention shall be given to the demands made by the delegation. (KNS)
