Director Sericulture J&K Reviews Progress, Felicitates Anantnag for Excellence under MRMA Campaign

Srinagar , Sept 25 (KNS) : Director Sericulture J&K Chairs Review Meeting at Jammu and Greets All Stakeholders for Nomination of District Anantnag for Excellent Performance under MRMA Campaign

Jammu, Sept 25: Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, IAS, Director Sericulture J&K, today chaired a comprehensive review meeting at Jammu to assess the progress on the implementation of various schemes, achievements, and developmental projects being executed by the Department in Jammu Division.

While taking stock of the ongoing initiatives, Bhat underscored the need to expand sericulture activities on a larger scale by ensuring the availability of mulberry leaf foliage in abundance to silkworm rearers. He highlighted that adequate mulberry plantation and its proper management would go a long way in significantly enhancing silkworm seed and cocoon production in Jammu Division.

During the meeting, the Director emphasized the timely completion of all construction works under the Capex budget and urged the officers to maintain quality standards in execution. He further impressed upon the officers that benefits under centrally sponsored schemes such as Silk Samagra and the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) must directly reach the intended beneficiaries so that the objectives of these schemes are achieved in letter and spirit.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Bhat also directed the officers to gear up their efforts to cater to the future requirements of the Department, stressing the importance of proactive planning. He encouraged them to share their inputs and feedback with the Directorate so that necessary policy decisions and proposals could be appraised before the Government for effective implementation.

Highlighting the importance of human resource development, the Director laid special emphasis on strengthening the rearer base across all districts of Jammu and Kashmir through regular capacity-building and skill development programs. He noted that empowering silkworm rearers with updated knowledge and scientific practices would ensure higher productivity and better income generation for farmer families associated with sericulture.

He also greeted all the stakeholders for the nomination of District Anantnag as the best-performing district under the Mera Resham Mera Abhiman Campaign and expressed profound gratitude to the Member Secretary for the nomination.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to the Chair, acknowledging the guidance and directions given by the Director and the active participation of all officers present.(KNS)
