Srinagar, August 8 (KNS): DIG Rajouri- Poonch Range Dr. Haseeb Mughal today held a meeting at DPO Poonch to review the final security arrangements made in the wake of Chhadee Mubarak procession (Holy mace), Ashoora processions to be taken out in the district.
The statement issued to KNS said that It was a multi-agency security review meeting attended by the representatives from CAPF/PMF/CID/Traffic/Police Telecom and other agencies.
As per past practice, the Chhadee Mubarak procession from Poonch to Mandi Temple will mark the culmination of annual Budha Amar Nath Ji Yatra which commenced on 29-07-2022 in which thousands of pilgrims from across the Country participated and paid obeisance at the holy shrine. Elaborate Security arrangements were out in place for the same.
Further, the holy Ashoora processions by the Shia Muslim community will be taken out to commemorate the 10th Day of holy month of Muharram. The religious congregations by the Shias in various Imam Bargahs of the district have already commenced from 30th of July last month.
During the meeting, the DIG was appraised by Rohit Baskotra SSP Poonch about the police security arrangements made for both the events.
A threadbare discussion was made on each issue from security point of view, it added.
The DIG at the first instance highlighted the representatives about their role and responsibility on security front for both the events.
"Then the chair imparted necessary directions to all the stakeholders to extend foolproof security arrangements," statement reads.
He laid stress on the participating officers to personally ensure briefing/de-briefing to the security deployment for remaining extra vigilant to thwart any nefarious act by the ANEs/ASEs, besides keeping of technical surveillance during the events.
The participants were directed to keep a close liaison among each other as well as with the organizers of the religious events, for better coordination & synergy.
The supervisory officers were also directed to seek help from the Army units for security reinforcement, wherever required.
All the participants were asked to deliver their best to ensure smooth and peaceful conduct of both the religious events.

Poonch, Nawaz Ahmed-Dy.SP Hqrs Poonch, Ankush Sharma Sr.PO/ADO DPO Poonch, Farooq Khan DY.SP JKAP 6th BN, Nissar Ahmed DY.SP CID Poonch, Varun Singh Negi-AC CISF, Mr. Hari Narayan Yadav-AC ITBP, Ram Kishan-AC 72 BN CRPF, Inspr. Ranjit Singh Rao SHO PS Poonch, Inspr. Showket Amin-DTI Poonch, among other officers were also present in the meeting.(KNS)
