DHSK holds virtual review meeting of national health programs

 Srinagar, February 19:(KNS)   In the backdrop of the recently held meeting by  Vivek Bhardwaj, Additional Chief Secretary Health and Medical Education and to carry forward his directions, Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather on Saturday chaired a virtual meeting of officers to review progress achieved under various National Health Programs in Kashmir.

While giving details, spokesperson Directorate of Health Services Kashmir, Dr Mir Mushtaq said the virtual meeting was physically attended by Nodal Officers of all National Health Programs, Deputy Director Health Services, epidemiologist Kashmir, Assistant Directors besides other concerned officials of the directorate attended the meeting.

All Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) of Kashmir division along with the District Program Management Units attended the meeting virtually.

The director reviewed the progress, functioning and implementation of different National Health Programs and discussed the deficiencies with concerned Nodal Officers and officials.

The programs and schemes which were reviewed and discussed include Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP), National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP), National Leprosy Eradication Programme (NLEP), National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP), National Viral Hepatitis Control Programme (NVHCP), National Rabies Control Programme (NRCP), Programme for Prevention and Control of Leptospirosis (PPCL), Maternal Health RCH PC & PNDT Act, Child Health, Immunization, Adolescent Health, Family Planning, Nutrition, National Iodine Deficiency Disorders Control Program and others.

Dr Mushtaq Rather asked the health officers and officials to work with dedication and get these programs implemented on the ground which are meant for the benefit of the common people.

Dr Mushtaq directed all the CMOs to see the implementation of all these schemes on the ground and benefits should reach to the end-user without any difficulty.

The director directed the CMOs to make the general public aware of the health schemes while signboards should be used in hospitals depicting the details and benefits of these schemes.

He said in case of any kind of difficulty in implementation of these schemes the Nodal Officers and CMOs should communicate the same to the DHSK for its redressal on time.

The director said that DHSK is fully committed and geared up to make all the health programs successful in all districts and medical blocks across Kashmir division.(KNS
