Srinagar, March 18:(KNS) The Directorate of Health Services Kashmir on Thursday achieved another milestone as Sub District Hospital Kupwara and District Hospital Kulgam have got NBA accreditation.
Spokesperson DHSK, Dr Mir Mushtaq said SDH Kupwara and DH Kulgam have managed to get accreditation in General Surgery from the NBA.
He said these hospitals will now be getting 3-year degree level DNB students in the stream adding that it is difficult for an SDH level hospital.
Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather has congratulated the faculty and administration of these two hospitals.
The director expects more streams in more hospitals to become accredited in near future which the directorate has planned and proposed.
“The process will be a major fill up in provisioning of round-the-clock services in specialties in our hospitals and will boost health care,” Dr MA Rather said.
The Director has instructed all the hospitals to accomplish departmentalization and decentralized working so as to attain the standards required for NBA accreditation.
Few days back SDH Kupwara got accreditation for DNB Medicine and DNB students in this stream has already joined.
In the hospital external assessors visited the hospital for Kayakalyp assessment and the team has highly applauded the hospital administration and expertise in taking the health care ahead.
The Directorate of Health Services Kashmir has till date managed to get accreditation for District Hospital Kulgam, JLNM Hospital Srinagar and SDH Kupwara for the Departments of Medicine.
In addition, JLNM Hospital Srinagar and SDH Kupwara for the Departments of Medicine.
In addition, JLNM Hospital Srinagar has been accredited in the Department of Anesthesia (2 Post MBBS seats and 1 Post Diploma Seat) and Ophthalmology (1 Post MBBS seat & 1 Post Diploma Seat).
JLNM has also been accredited in the Department of Anesthesia (2 Post MBBS seats & 1 Post Diploma Seat) and Ophthalmology (1 Post MBBS seat & 1 Post Diploma Seat).
These are all in addition to DNB Accreditation achieved for General Medicine by DH Kulgam, JLNM and SDH Kupwara.(KNS)
