DGP sanctions Rs. 1 crore as Special Welfare Relief for NoKs of deceased Police personnel/SPOs

 

Jammu March 12:(KNS)   With an aim to provide financial assistance to the families of the Police personnel who have passed away while in service, the Director General of Police, J&K, Dilbag Singh has sanctioned rupees one crore  as Special Welfare Relief for NoKs of such deceased Police personnel/SPOs.

 

The special welfare relief of rupees 22 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of dependents/legal heirs of deceased Police personnel SI Balbir Singh, ASI Mushtaq Hussain, HC Fayaz Ahmad and follower Satiesh Kumar. The deceased personnel have passed away due to illness/ natural death while in service. Rupees one lakh each was already paid to NoKs of these deceased police personnel for performing last rites through their concerned units. The Special Welfare Relief is sanctioned out of Contributory Police Welfare Funds.

 

Besides the DGP also sanctioned rupees 6 lakh each in favour of NoKs of deceased SPOs Omkar Nath and Shakeel Ahmad Rather who passed away during their engagement with the department due to illness. Rupees 50 thousand has been already paid to NoKs of the deceased SPOs for performing their last rites as immediate relief.

 

Police Headquarters is running many schemes for the welfare of its personnel and their families. There are also schemes for the wards of Police personnel and SPOs. Besides, there are schemes for the NoKs of martyrs, their wards and also for the retired Police personnel and their spouses. (KNS)
