Srinagar, Feb 09 (KNS): Apni Party senior vice-president, Ghulam Hassan Mir on Wednesday said that delimitation report has been drafted by following instructions of a particular party.

While talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Mir said that the report is illogical, irrational and unconstitutional. 

“Being headed by country’s most esteemed judges and chief election commissioner, we had high hopes with this commission that it is a sacred commission in our democratic setup. However, after going through their report, it was obvious that such findings and changes in the constituencies will have to face criticisms and backlashes,” Mir added.

Mir said that people were eagerly hoping that delimitation commission will allot seats keeping in view aspirations of the people for solving their problems.

“Had it been framed according to the constitution, people would have welcomed it. Joining Anantnag with Poonch and Rajouri is absurd because of winter months road leading to these areas remain closed for about six months,” he said.

He said that redrawing of constituencies in such a manner is devoid of factual situation. 

“Apni party has already stated that the report of delimitation commission has been setup without abiding by any constitutional rules. Apni party has already rejected the report and we will stick to our stand,” Mir said. (KNS)
