Says commission was setup to strengthen constituencies of BJP; ‘BJP pursuing 70-year-old agenda to turn Gandhian India into Godse’s India’

Srinagar, Feb 07 (KNS): Peoples Democratic Party president, Mehbooba Mufti on Monday said that the delimitation commission has de-franchised the system of constitutional reforms in J&K so as to disempower the majority community here.

While talking to reporters at party headquarters in Srinagar, she said that PDP already had the apprehensions that delimitation commission was setup to move forward the agenda of BJP and it is evident from the fact that no constitutional reforms have been followed by the commission.

“The commission just wanted to strengthen the constituencies of BJP and to disempower the majority community of Rajouri, Kashmir and Chenab valley. They have de-franchises the system in a way that voting by people won’t affect the results of elections,” she said.

She said that BJP wants to turn this nation into Godse’s nation for which they are using Jammu and Kashmir as a laboratory. “Everything is being tested here just as in the garb of delimitation commission, BJP ruined everything in J&K. BJP is pursuing the agenda of Godse and are dividing Hindus and Muslims of the entire nation.”

She said that they are only empowering their own party by disempowering other parties. “This is not a government, it is a dictatorship. The present government does not listen to the people and only want to pursue their 70-year-old agenda of turning Gandhian India into Godse’s India,” she added.

Mufti further said that it is very unfortunate that now journalists are being targeted by the administration.

She said that the government doesn’t want that anybody to speak truth in here and they don’t want anyone to challenge their false narrative of normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir. (KNS)
