Delimitation Commision recommendations unacceptable: ANC

Srinagar, Dec 21 (KNS): Awami National Conference (ANC) President Begum Khalida Shah has outrightly rejected the recommendations of the Delimitation Commision terming it an assault on both the culture of Jammu & kashmir. Asking Prime Minister Narinder Modi to stop this exercise that hits out at the vitals of the pluralistic society of Jammu & Kashmir & the thousands of years old ethos & social, ethnic & cultural character of its people.

Commenting on this development the ANC Sr VP Muzzafar Shah raised an alarm by stating that it seems that the final goal of New Delhi is to remove the name Kashmir from the political dictionary of the world & replace it with the UT of Srinagar. "Let us pray & hope that I am wrong in my assessment & reading of the Political situation of J& K," he said.

The ANC had refused to meet with the Delimitation Commision on its visit to Kashmir earlier terming its existence unconstitutional as its formation took place after the abrogation of Article 370 & 35 A that stands challenged before the Supreme Court of India. (KNS)
