All developmental works will be completed before 10th of March 2021: DDC Budgam

Budgam, February 13: (KNS)   District Development Commissioner, Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza
today reviewed the progress of development on the Kanihama Craft Tourism   Village here in
Budgam at New Conference Hall Budgam.
Among others, the meeting was attended by JD Planning, DD Tourism, District Evaluation
Officer, District informatics Officer, BDO SK Pora, Executive Engineers of PDD, PHE, R&B,
and other concerned.
While taking the review of various developmental works, the DDC was informed that 27
weaver sheds will be constructed and for this, the government will provide 70% assistance to
the general category weaver and those belonging to BPL/PHH/SC or women will be given
100% assistance. 
The 150 identified weavers houses across the craft village will be renovated, the DDC said.
Regarding the marketing and promoting of Kani shawl and other products at Global level, the
DDC said that Kani Shawl and other products shall be made available on web portal so as to
encourage display and online purchasing of these products 
The DDC also took status of other development works which include one Cafeteria, lighting
system across the village, construction of one view point, development of sumo stand,
development of one wellness centre, development of entry points to the village and installation
of drinking water facility. The DDC directed the concerned officer that the work shall be
completed before the 10th of March 2021.(KNS)
