Srinagar, Jan 13 (KNS): A video went viral on social media couple of days ago, an elderly destitute women was seen pleading that she has nobody to take care and has no family/relatives and is homeles since last about 20 years.

The woman was appealing for providing a shelter to her so that she could spend her rest of life there particularly during the ongoing harsh winter season.

Seeing her plight through a viral video, the  Deputy  Commissioner Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad personally visited the spot where the elderly lady was temporarily holding shelter and spoke to her to register her grievances.

The DC made all arrangements for the lady and provided a room with washroom and other required facilities so that she can live a better life there, besides arrangements for daily food requirements. 

The lady expressed her gratitude to the DC for his compassionate approach and prayed for his long and healthy life.

Meanwhile, the locals also hailed the DC for his act of kindness and humanity. (KNS)
